Our Nauvoo Artwork Christmas Cards

Here’s another news flash from our product development department (aka Jeanette). Our latest Nauvoo Christmas card designs have been completed, answering a frequent query we receive, “Do you have Christmas cards?”.

Actually we have 4 Christmas card designs featuring Tom Simpson Photography’s artwork, prepped for printing and are taking orders. Here’s the scoop on the cards:

Our 2015 Seasons of Nauvoo Calendar Pre-Order Sale is On!

Guess what I have been working on during the last month? Skimming through Tom’s digital negatives to select images for our 2^nd annual Seasons of Nauvoo Calendar. Yep. It’s that time already.

Last year when we planned our calendar sale, I thought “order-in-November-for-delivery-in-December-to-use-in-January.” What I didn’t factor in was customers wanting to send calendars as Christmas gifts. Well….solved that problem. Calendars will be delivered to you in mid-November because we have already started our Calendar Pre-Order Sale.

Nauvoo Christmas Card Design easier to do with Unseasonably Cooler Temperatures

Cold weather is not my favorite. I’m a Southern Belle who is accustomed to warmer temperatures and living in Nauvoo with all its snow and cold weather has been an adventure.

However, when the air is crisp and clear as it has been the last few days (a reminder from Old Man Winter that he’s not too far away), it is much easier to design Christmas cards using photos of snow-covered landscapes than it is to think “Christmas” when it’s hot and muggy.

So, what have I been working on? This is our newest offering in Nauvoo Temple Christmas cards.

Have several more in the works awaiting the processing attention of our ever-so-busy-photographer. When Tom saw what I was working on (having pulled raw images from his files to check size, image, and template compatibility), his first comment was…..”I need to process those images.”

I am super excited! When we get those images ready and made into cards, I will be sure to let you know. They are going to be awesome too.

Super British Pageant Shots {Cute Kids Part-1}

Sitting farther back from the stage has its advantages…..sound is more rich and you can see action across the full expanse of the stage all at once. Good seats get you this view of the show.

Sitting on the front row also has its advantages, one of which is seeing the facial expressions of the cast, tears included when emotions strike. We loved sitting on the front row. We especially loved seeing the cute kids…..putting their heart and soul into each action, belting out the songs with full emotion, unrestrained joy, and conviction.

Here are a few super British Pageant shots to show you what we saw and captured on camera. Oh, and because the kids were so adorable, there are lots of pics…..too many for one post. Enjoy Cute Kids Part-1!

This is what I mean about about heart and soul…..and all the strength you can muster. Don’t you love the expressions of the boys in the tug of war!

Super British Pageant Shots {The Gals}

As I mentioned in the last post about the guys, here’s the next category of super shots from the British Pageant. These photos remind me of this little line:

Sugar and spice and everything nice…..

Add to that…..amazing talent, beautiful voices, and never-ending smiles and you have the gals of the British Pageant core cast. We loved their ability to bring each family story to life.

Sugar? Sweetness abounded…..aka the Cannons and the Benbows.

Spice? There was plenty (and it was endearing)….aka Becky Laird and Margaret Turley.

Everything nice? Feeling the love…..Sarah Ashton.

Thanks gals. Just like the guys, you touched our hearts.

Super British Pageant Shots {The Guys}

Oh how we love the British Pageant! What a treat for record crowds who filled the chairs, overflowing onto benches brought in from the County Fair or their own folding chairs from home.

The music. The dances. The color. The stories. The feeling. All touched hearts in a remarkable way.

Instead of posting photos in chronological order, (don’t want to give the story away…..you need to see the show!), I have decided to post by category—the guys, the gals, cute kids, the dances, the set and probably another called most awesome shots.

We have begun working through Tom’s 10,000 images taken during the 2014 season to put a few posts together. Here are a few starters of the super shots from the British Pageant (in Nauvoo).
